My first Urquell back was slightly disappointing, and the next couple continued in the same vein: good, but not quite as good as I remembered. I found my way into Czech pilsners and from there rediscovered Pilsner Urquell. American brews lead to Belgian beers and it was a flurry of IPAs, stouts triples and quads (over the course of several years) before I reemerged, looking for something crisper and lighter on the palate. I drank it happily for a time (interspersed with many other beers) before disappearing down the rabbit hole of American craft beers. When I started drinking beer, Pilsner Urquell was one of the first I found that I really enjoyed. I need to start my post by saying my intent is absolutely not to shit on your parade.
